  13. We're in the process of cleaning out our storeroom.  We have 200 copies of
  14. DoubleVision which need to be cleared out, or trashed.  We published this
  15. Apple-developed (by Kurt Schmucker's ATG group in Maryland) MacApp sample
  16. application in a 2-disk package with full-color manual with the understanding
  17. that we could distribute it through the same channels as our other MacApp tools
  18. and goodies.  Unfortunately, AFTER it was in the process of printing/packaging,
  19. Apple Legal and Apple Software Licensing changed their minds and decided that
  20. we could only distribute to our own MADA members.  That cut out resale through
  21. APDA and other resellers--and lost us about $4,000.

  23. The DoubleVision Product Description is as follows:
  24. Catalog No. DV-1 / Price: Member $40  [Originally slated to be $50]
  25. DoubleVision is the most complex MacApp sample program available.  It shows how
  26. to use 32-Bit Color QuickDraw.  DoubleVision is a general purpose visualization
  27. program to display 2-dimensional data where each (x,y) value in the domain has
  28. two parametric values associated with it.  Each of these values is displayed
  29. using a color (or gray) scale in one of two primary windows.  The user is also
  30. able to produce histograms for any subregion of the domain.  DoubleVision is
  31. also a sample program for scientific data visualization in source code form to
  32. assist Macintosh third party software developers.  Within the guidelines of the
  33. DoubleVision license, you can use portions of the DoubleVision source code in
  34. your applications.  Requires MacApp 2.0B9, MPW 3.0, 32-Bit Color QuickDraw and
  35. LaserWriter Driver 6.0.  Current for MacApp 2.0B8; simple instructions included
  36. for use with later versions.

  38. This same software is now on the free Apple-distributed CD-ROM "A Disk Called
  39. Wanda".  (No one can accuse Apple Legal of consistency.)  But, if you don't
  40. have a CD-ROM drive, or can't get hold of the CD, or if you'd like to get the
  41. complete full-color manual that is lacking on the CD, then here's how you can
  42. get our publication of DoubleVision for FIVE BUCKS...

  45. and we'll include DoubleVision in your order for only $5.00.  OR--If you renew
  46. your membership (including early renewal) or join MADA for the first time
  47. before July 1st, we'll give you DoubleVision for $5.00 plus shipping.
